Opportunity:

As a member of the Operational Risk Management team, you will play a significant role in monitoring and mitigating operational risks at Blue Cross Life. You will work closely with all functional areas of the Company as well as representatives from the distributor entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the update and maintenance of operational risk policies, procedures, and system (including access review).

  • Perform initial assessment for risks.

  • Perform analysis of operational risk information from all reporting parties.

  • Help coordinate operational risk workshops.

  • Develop and execute assurance program in support of the Company’s three lines of defense model.

  • Assist in providing materials in preparation for reports to the Board and Risk Committee.

  • Assist in the execution of special ORM projects.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

  • Completion of a professional risk designation. CRM designation would be considered an asset.

  • 1-2 years experience in a risk or compliance role.

  • Experience in insurance and/or banking is considered an asset.

  • Experience in the development and execution of audits (internal and/or external) considered an asset.

  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance software is considered an asset.

  • English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders.

  • Bilingualism (ENG/FR) is considered an asset.

  • Proven written, oral, and listening skills, tailoring information, and delivery to suit the nature of the material, audience, and situation. 

  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment and to establish priorities.

Salary:

The MINIMUM salary for this position is $71,603 per annum. Starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, and internal equity.
